Exhibition | One Never Remembers Alone: Visual Transmission of Kinship and Memory
An exhibition and public program series examining the ways in which memory can be transmitted across generations, temporally and spatially. Featuring artists Amal Amer, Beatriz Cortez, Maria Dumlao, Sebastián Hernández, Ann Le, Joiri Minaya, Boone Nguyen, and Adee Roberson. Working in photography, video, performance, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and installation, who have cultural roots in the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Jamaica, Lebanon, Mexico, the Philippines, the United States, Vietnam, and Yemen. While many are born or based in the United States, the artists build bridges between themselves and their personal and/or collective lineages.
