Exhibition | Resisting Paradise

At the intersection of tourism, sexuality, gender, environmental issues, and online culture is Resisting Paradise, featuring the works of three Caribbean artists working locally and abroad: Deborah Anzinger (Jamaican), Joiri Minaya (Dominican American), and Leasho Johnson (Jamaican). Through their respective practices, the artists reference shared histories of invasion, slavery, and the economic exploitation of natural resources, pinpointing how these forces translate into the commodification of bodies within the Western view of idyllic tourist destinations. Curated by Marina Reyes Franco.
