Artist Statement
My work as a painter , musician, performer and film maker has always been inspired by the aesthetic of rituals in traditional societies. more specifically I study how an art form, being dance, music or visual, can induce an altered state of consciousness according to specific codes of display and social interactions. I restitute in my own practice the elements I collected during my researches, but with no direct aesthetic reference to the cultures I met, this in order to avoid any kind of folklorist romanticism.
